Well hey there! Happy New Year! I can’t believe its been almost two months since I wrote my last blog post! A LOT has happened in that time, so I figured I’d catch you up on everything in my first post for 2019! Lets chat about beautiful San Diego first!
If you didn't know, my family and I moved December 1st from South Carolina, and after taking a week to enjoy family at home in Georgia, we made it to San Diego December 12th! Its amazing here! I absolutely love it! The weather is awesome, the palm trees, I could do without Interstate-15 (so stressful LOL) but we’re adjusting nicely!
As far as sewing goes, I have lost all inspiration at the moment. It could be exhaustion from the move, frustration because I don’t have my space yet or plain ole’ burnout! I don’t know, but thats my current state! I’m sure it will return once we move into our house and our belongings get delivered. I think then, San Diego will begin to feel like home. Until then though…..I’m just not interested! I thought having my machines with me would be enough to keep the creative juices flowing, but its not! LOL!
I did complete one thing since being here though. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw my last post of the progress of my Vogue wrap dress. I finished it, I just haven’t gotten around to photographing it yet. Which brings me to why I decided to get off of social for a couple weeks. I was beginning to get overwhelmed with creating content right now. As much as I say, “only focus on what I’m doing” and “stay in my lane”, when you’re not creating but everybody else is around you and doing so amazingly, hey I’m only human, I get in my head sometimes! I know I’m not the only one. I was literally trying to figure out how I could sew, record, and post every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday! I remember thinking I need a break but telling myself “I can’t take a break from IG”! That was the moment I decided to uninstall the apps! Of course I can take a break! So thats what I did, and I feel GREAT!!!
No more unneccessary stress and more focus on what’s important which is getting settled! So since I’ve been off social, I’ve enrolled the older boys in Basketball! They are really excited about that! School started back up today for all the boys and I totally embarrassed them by making them take pics on campus! LOL! I found my local Joann and did some pattern shopping! I honestly go there every Saturday just to be amongst my kind LOL!!
Just because I’m not inspired to sew doesn’t mean I don’t miss it, because I do! I’ve just accepted the fact that I have to wait before I can dive back into it. I have lots of plans for 2019 that I want to accomplish. Like leveling up my Youtube content and developing a schedule for posting consistently. I’m excited for more Sew In 30, and Sew With Me videos! And I want to start doing more fitting videos especially for the hips and rear! More mommy and me looks, more sewing machine videos, just more FUN creating! Thats what I’m excited for, having FUN!
With all the excitement though for projects, I will be practicing more self-care and making sure I’m not doing to much! Taking time away to live more in the moment, you know! I love sewing but its not at the top of my list of priorities. I will be consistent with my creating AND consistent with making intentional time for God, myself, and family!
Well this turned into a LONG post! LOL! I hope you enjoyed reading and catching up! Thank you so much for all of your support and love you showed throughout 2018! From reading a post, liking a photo, sharing and subscribing….THANK YOU! You are amazing, and I really appreciate you! Hope you’re excited for the new year because I’m looking forward to all the joys and wonderful things that will unfold in 2019!
Until next time…
