Hey everybody!! Happy Wednesday!! Ever have a piece of clothing that you loved from back in the day when you were young, but never got?....The basic overalls were it for me! I loved them, not to mention, all my friends had some!! BUT now that I sew, I finally made me a pair!!Read More
Hey hey hey!! Happy Friday!! The weekend is here!!! So excited to talk about this look because this may be the first piece that I was inspired by ready-to-wear, and ACTUALLY made my version of it. I usually just say "oh I can make that", or "thats so cute, I think I'll make it", but never do!! This time was different!! I saw A LOT of fashion bloggers wearing this Target khaki ruffle wrap skirt, and I was in love!! I loved everything about it, and in my last fabric haul I knew I had some fabric that would be great for it!!Read More

Hey everybody!! I'm back!! I had the best time in LA!! The conference was amazing! The instructors, vendors, fashion show, shopping, everything was awesome!! It was so great to meet my sew sisters!! The amount of love you all showed me was overwhelming in the best way!! I was so humbled and grateful! It encouraged and motivated me to keep going! Thank you!
Today I'm talking about McCalls 7543! Clearly I love me some denim, and off-the-shoulder dresses and tops! This pattern is a quick and easy sew thats great to throw on and go in! I made View D with View B sleeves!
Like I said, this is a easy dress to sew, however I found forming the narrow hem around the curve of the sleeve to be a bit tedious and annoying! I got through it though using tons of pins. I think lining the sleeves would be a great option to eliminate the narrow hem, and give it a nice clean finish. The Sew With Me video for this pattern is at the end of the post! Note: I did split the sleeve in the video, but it can be lined without splitting it, if the split sleeve look is not your style.
Let me know if you make this dress, I would love to see your version of it!! Hope you have a great day, and I'll talk to you in the next post!
Hey everybody!! Happy Friday!! I have another Sew With Me video for you today that I hope you'll be able to make if not this weekend, than soon! I love the pleated in this skirts, because they don't add too much fullness to my lower body like other pleated skirt do.Read More
I have been seeing a lot of wide legged culottes (in fact Vogue 9091 is exactly the design I've been seeing) but you all know, I'm a skirt kinda of girl. So I bought Vogue 9090 hoping I could get a similar look. I did have concerns because of the pleats and not wanting to add more fullness to my hips. Needless to say, I'm very happy with the results and I think the amount of pleats are just enough!Read More
Happy Friday everybody!!! This beast of a jacket is finally done, and I'm so ready to share it with you and give you some tips that I know will help you if you plan to make McCalls 7549 View A. Honestly, this jacket almost took me out! I was about 2 seconds from throwing it in the trash but thanks to my sew sistas encouraging words, I was able to push through!! I say it not to keep you from sewing this pattern, to prepare you! View A is time consuming but the end results is beautiful!!Read More
