The pattern I used for the top is McCalls 7630. I went with View F and I cut the size 14! This is a great top with lots of other options on the pattern. I will definitely make this view again. It came together really fast, it has no closures, and I think it'll be great top for spring!Read More
Today I'm sharing Simplicity 8466 and McCalls 7726! Lets start with the Simplicity Turtleneck first! This is a great turtleneck. It comes together really easy and its a good project for beginners that are comfortable with zippers. My favorite features for this top are the sleeves (of course) and the hem bands. I love hem bands, forget about sewing narrow hems, just sew on the band and go!! One thing I will say is, if you're not comfortable with midriff, be sure to lengthen your top. I did not lengthen mine so I'll always wear it with something high-waisted, or under something like overalls.Read More
I always create a single garment at a time. When I see a new pattern, or inspiration on social, I make it and then move on to the next project. This process allowed me to think of more pieces that would work well in my closet, everyday life and coordinate together! I thought more of "what do I need/want", rather than "that's cute". With that thought process, I narrowed it down to 4 pieces. A dress, a top, a jacket, and a bottom. Today I'm sharing my first piece, the dress.Read More

Hey everybody!! I'm back!! I had the best time in LA!! The conference was amazing! The instructors, vendors, fashion show, shopping, everything was awesome!! It was so great to meet my sew sisters!! The amount of love you all showed me was overwhelming in the best way!! I was so humbled and grateful! It encouraged and motivated me to keep going! Thank you!
Today I'm talking about McCalls 7543! Clearly I love me some denim, and off-the-shoulder dresses and tops! This pattern is a quick and easy sew thats great to throw on and go in! I made View D with View B sleeves!
Like I said, this is a easy dress to sew, however I found forming the narrow hem around the curve of the sleeve to be a bit tedious and annoying! I got through it though using tons of pins. I think lining the sleeves would be a great option to eliminate the narrow hem, and give it a nice clean finish. The Sew With Me video for this pattern is at the end of the post! Note: I did split the sleeve in the video, but it can be lined without splitting it, if the split sleeve look is not your style.
Let me know if you make this dress, I would love to see your version of it!! Hope you have a great day, and I'll talk to you in the next post!
Hey everybody!! Happy Thursday!! Today I want to tell you all about a cool sewing challenge that I'm hosting with the beautiful Faniesha of www.foalexander.com! Its called the SummerSewChallenge and we're going to be sewing the super cute McCalls 7603!! I love this pattern so much and I can not wait to make me a couple views on it!!Read More
Today we'll be sewing McCalls 7243! A cute little dress with a big collar (for some reason I called a flounce all throughout the video :/). It can be a little confusing around a couple of the steps, but I'm confident, if you follow along with me, you'll be successful with your dress!!Read More
Today, I'm sharing with you all a pattern that was released it think last Fall. I didn't see a lot of ladies make it, and I'm assuming it had something to do with attaching the flounce. When I first bought it, I wanted to make it right away, but after reading steps 5-8, I pushed the instructions back in the envelope and quickly moved on!! LOL!Read More
