Hey hey!! How you doing?! I hope you are having a great day!! I am super pumped and excited to get into this post so lets just get started!!
I've been blogging now for a little while and while its very challenging, its also awesome at the same time!! For the first 6 months of blogging, I was posting 3 times per WEEK! Yes 3 times!! Crazy right!! I was a mad woman! LOL!! Now I don't claim to know it all but I learned a lot during that time and I believe it helped me really figure out and focus on whats important!
If you want to blog more frequently then you have to STOP focusing ONLY on the FINISHED garment! The finished garment is simply one step in the process. You MUST focus on ALL the small details it takes to get from A to Z. Focusing only one 1 will keep you inconsistent, overwhelmed, and tired with your blog.
Lets go through a couple of the steps we need to complete in order to post a finished make.
- Pattern/Fabric/Notion Shopping
- Pattern/Fabric Cutting
- Sewing/Finishing Seams/PRESSING
- Photo Planning/ Find Location
- Photo Shoot
- Write Blog Post
- Edit Post/Include links/Add pics
- Post on Social Accounts
I listed 10 steps! You may have more or fewer but we can all agree it's more than sewing listed! These steps takes hours some days!! So WHY is it that your ONLY focus is one! You have to plan and schedule these steps the same way you schedule sewing time! I don't care if you only have 1 hour a day, use the time you have effectively to maximize it and get the small details done! The small unglamorous "nobody wants to do" details are the ones that matter most!!
Once you identify your specific steps, maybe you have a YouTube channel or Podcast, plan according, and hold yourself accountable to your schedule!!
Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope this post helps you to focus on the whole picture not just a piece of it. Remember to plan and schedule ALL the steps and execute my friend!!
