Happy Friday everybody!!! So I know we've all seen these beautiful dashikis before, but wanted to make it in the go-to, ole' reliable, TNT McCalls 6886! I tell you this pattern, gets used more than any other pattern I have. If you are a beginner, or new to sewing with patterns, give this 3-4 piece (depends on which view you make) pattern a try!!
I originally bought this fabric back in May to make another dress, but scratched that idea and went with this look. You're probably thinking...May? Yes May! Lol!! I was so excited about matching up all the seams, installing an invisible zipper, adding a neck facing and was quickly let down when I tried it on and couldn't move!!!!
After making the pattern so much, I overlooked the ONE important step when I made this dress. McCalls 6886 is for stretch knits!!! Lol! So my options were, to give it away, or lose some weight!!! I proudly wear this dress 10 pounds lighter!!!
Have you ever made a pattern so much, you forgot important steps? I know I'm not the only one!! LOL. You all have a great weekend!!
