Hey everybody!!! Hope your Monday is starting off great! I am finishing up some projects I have on my sewing table today, and I can't wait to share them with you!!! If you follow me on social, then you know I was working on this Simplicity 8014 shirt dress. This is a pretty popular pattern! I have seen a lot of recreations of this dress in some Facebook sewing groups, so I guess everybody love shirt dresses just as much as I do! :)
The pattern instructions are easy to follow however I would not recommend this pattern to a beginner. If you are not comfortable with cuffs, collars, facings, pockets, or buttons, I would suggest getting a similar pattern that maybe has only one new skill, instead of all of these if you're not ready! I chose View C to make and I had to adjust the top portion of my dress by taking in 2 inches on both sides.
I bought my gingham fabric from Joanns a couple weeks ago and I love it! I took my inspiration straight from the pattern for this dress! Lol! This fabric is so lightweight and I think it's perfect for spring/summer! I know I'll be buying more of it, because I'm planning to make the boys some short sleeve button ups shirts soon!!
Let me know below what you're sewing. Also if you're not following me on social, you should be :)....click the social links in the sidebar! You all have a great week and I'll talk to you in the next post!
