Hey everybody! I pray your day is going great! People ask me this question a lot!! Most are asking something like this…” Girl, I don’t know how you find the time to sew with all them children you got”, or “ so, after taking care of ALL 4 of your children, your husband, and keeping the house up, you go and sew” LOL!!!!
To answer this question…I don’t FIND time, I MAKE time! The saying is true…you make time for what you want! Simple! You want to have a strong prayer life… make time to pray, you want to run a marathon…make time to train, you want to relax more…make time to be alone for a few minutes a day; whatever the want is, you make time for it! For me one of my daily want is sewing and here’s my routine for making time to do something sewing related every day…
Clean the house before bed: Now with a big family, I am constantly cleaning however I notice doing a good sweep, folding up any laundry I didn’t get to, and straightening up the living room at bedtime gives me extra time for sewing the next day!
Plan/Prep: After the older boys are off to school, I usually take about 30 minutes to look through my fabric stash, and patterns to see what I want to get started on. If I’m going out to a fabric store, I’ll take that time to see what new patterns came out, or if there’s a sale so I can be in and out of the store fast!
NAP TIME: This is where I make time to sew! Before I started sewing, I always said if my children are taking naps, getting their second wind...I’m going to take a nap too!! I need to match their energy right!! LOL!! These days nap time is for children only so I can have my SEW TIME!!
Talk to you all in the next post!
