Hey everybody! Its Friday, and I'm on the road heading home for the weekend to spend some time with my family! I love going home! I do ABSOLUTELY nothing when I'm there, and I think thats why I love it so much! LOL!! Lots of relaxing will be happening soon! Before I signed off for the weekend, I have to share my new FAVORITE maxi skirt!
This week Jen of Tie Dye Diva held a blog tour for her first women PDF pattern the "Mermaid Maxi Skirt". I can't tell you all how much I LOVE this skirt! You can make it slim, straight with a split or my fav the flared. It also had the option for gathered or flat pockets!
For my skirt, I went with the flared version and cut the size 22. After making it, I did have to take in a pinch on the front seams around the tummy area just to fit it closer to me, but other than that, I didn't have to make any adjustments to the pattern. I plan to wear my skirt with flats mostly so I didn't add length, however if you plan to wear with heels or wedges be sure to measure and add the necessary length. This skirt came together so fast. I was able to print, tape, cut, cut fabric, and sew it all in the same day!
For fabric, I use this double poly brush knit from LaFinch Fabrics. This skirt is so soft, and comfy. I haven't made a maxi skirt in a couple years, but now I have the perfect pattern to get me to making them!
The Mermaid Maxi is currently is currently 20% off all week so take advantage of the sale and go ahead and grab it now.
I paired my mermaid maxi skirt with the Nikko top from TrueBias. Also sewn in a double poly brush knit from LaFinch Fabrics. Below is the blog tour list! Head over and visit the other makers post of the tour and see the skirts they creates and how they styled them!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great weekend!
Until next time...
