Hey Friends! Happy Wednesday!! I'm so excited because my mom is coming today!!!! I can't wait to relax, cook and of course sew with her!! Today is also my last DIY post of 2017! I've had the best time creating and sharing with you all and I'm looking forward to next year!! Lots of Sew With Me videos to come, sewing tutorials, and a *secret*....I'll be selling items too!! More on that soon, but for now lets chat about this velvet swing dress!
This is my second time making New Look 6525. You can see my first version here in a floral liverpool knit! I love this dress! Super easy to make, and the possibilities with fabric options makes this a great year-round dress! To make it more of holiday dress, I used this Crushed Stretch Velvet from La Finch Fabrics. I found the fabric very nice to sew with and the color is beautiful!!
For size, I cut the 16. My current bust measurement is 38.5". The 16 finished garment measurement for this dress is 41.5". I could've also cut the size 14 which 39.5" for the bust, but for personal fit preference (I like extra room) I cut the 16 and I love the fit!
Thanks for stopping by today!! I think I'll do a recap of my favorite looks of the year, so stay tuned for that! Also if you want to see a the Sew With Me video for this dress, you can watch that here!!
