Hey hey hey!! Happy Friday!! My family and I are off today to go back home and visit family, which is why I've been so M.I.A!! We were just there last week, and headed back again!! LOL!! I really do enjoy just relaxing, hanging, and making memories with my family!!
Today I'm talking about this popular Simplicity 8389 pattern. I've seen a couple other ladies versions of this pattern and loved the relaxed, comfy look of it. I'm all about comfort these days!! LOL!! My favorite view on this pattern was view D. I loved the tie, and the taper hem on the pants.
For fabric, I used a lightweight gauze fabric that I found at Micheal Levine Loft in LA. They charge by the pound in that store and I got a great deal on this fabric for only $3!! I cut the size 18 for the pants, and wish I would've cut the 20! Why, you ask? Because its a little snug around the hip, and I was going for a loose fit look. If I make again, I'm definitely go up a size and cut the 20. The top was a $4 find at Walmart! Sure I can make a tank, but sometimes buying just makes senses!! LOL
Since, I'm making pants now, I can no longer avoid adjustments!! I usually only have to do one, and thats grading between my bust, waist, and hips. Now my adjustments will HAVE to include adding an 1.5" to the pants rise, and maybe lengthening the inseam a bit. I'll let you know how those adjustments work out, and then of course I'll be sharing them with you!!
Overall, I love this pattern. Its a great weekend project, sews up fast and they are perfect for throwing on for lounging or running errands.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend! Let me know if you have this pattern below, or if you'll be grabbing it soon!!
