Hey everybody! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week has been going great! I'm having a pretty awesome week if I do say so myself! The little ones went back to school this week, so I got back to sewing! I've had a couple projects on my table that I was excited to get back to! First up is mommy and me matching wrap dresses! I can't wait to be finished with it so Justice and I can twin again!
Today I'm sharing with my new Striped Linen Jacket and Short set using Simplicity 8558! I love this look! It so cute, comfy and casual. I made this using this Linen from The Fabric Store! I absolutely love this company! They have amazing fabrics and my favorites are their linens!
Both pieces came together great however for the jacket when it came time to sew the collar I had to refer to Mimi G tutorial. So glad she made one because its a mis-print in the pattern for sewing the collar. So if you plan to make this jacket, be sure to check out the tutorial.
For sizes, I cut the 16 for the jacket and I cut the 18 for the shorts. I also added 2 inches to the hem of the shorts.
I paired it with the Ogden Cami by TrueBias. I used a Mauve Rayon Challis from LaFinch Fabrics for the fabric. I love the drape of that fabric and it worked perfect for the cami. The Ogden Cami is super popular and a really quick sew, however I still managed to mess it up!! I cut the wrong size so it has really unflattering pull lines around the armpit area. No need to worry though, I will not let this fail win! I'm already planning my remake of this cami!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great rest of your week! Until next time....
