Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday! I had every intention of posting this denim jumpsuit last week and have a “transition your summer looks with a white button up” theme on the blog. But when I got ready to write my post, ALL of the pics for my jumpsuit were GONE!!! I think I accidentally erased them off my SD card! But any who, I figured why not pick back up with that theme for this week! Because even though Fall temps are finally here, I still have a couple summer looks I want to wear!
I made Simplicity 8610 back in July and it just got lost in my big pile of projects and patterns! I was a little on the fence about the pattern when I first bought it, because I’m not a big fan of spaghetti scraps and the kimonos on the pattern aren’t really my jam. But for some reason I bought it anyway and here we are!
I really love this jumpsuit! I love the way it fits, and of course the fact that I made it in denim! For size I cut the 16 around the bust and waist and merge to a 20 for the hips. Anytime I have gathers or elastic around the waist, I like to add either a store-bought belt or make a self-fabric tie for it. In this case, I made a tie with the scraps.
This denim fabric was a lucky find at Walmart! I know I’ve said it before, but I always can find a gem or two in there! I definitely recommend checking out your local store to see if you can find some good, or even fabric to use for a muslin.
One of my favorite details about the jumpsuit, are the loops for the scraps on the back. The pattern says to make 2 buttonholes on each scrap so you can adjust them if necessary. I like that option! I used brown buttons to add a little pop against the denim.
I didn’t know how my white button up shirt would look with the jumpsuit but I think it works great! This is how I’ll be styling it from here on out. Last week, I paired my same Vogue 8772 White button up with a Vogue sleeveless dress. Love it! On Thursday, I’ll show you how it looks with a high-low dress!
Thanks for stopping by today! Until next time…..
Blessings
