Hey everybody!!! Happy February! I've been sewing so much, I realized I never took photos of my sleeveless jacket!! If you follow me on Instagram (and you should;)!!) then you may remember me making this last month! It has some mistakes, but I'm so proud of it simply because it's my very first coat!!
I made this using Butterick 6384 View A. If you notice, it does have fringe on this view, but I opted out of it. For the fabric, I used a burgundy wool I found in my moms stash! She had no idea what to do with it, in fact when I said I wanted it, she said "you do, take it" LOL! I figured I can at least test a coat out on free fabric than expensive $20/yard fabric! My lining is a charmeuse I had in my stash. I was a little skeptical of it, but I think it turned out great!!
This is a great pattern to try if you're a beginner ready to tackle your first coat! I found the instructions very easy to read, and follow. I learned a lot while sewing this and no she's not perfect, but like I said before, I'm so proud!
Take chances with your sewing! Try NEW things! It's the only way to grow and perfect your skills!!
Let me know if you've made your first coat below!! Have a great rest of your week, and I'll talk to you all in the next post!!
