Happy Monday! I am so excited to get Week 3 of my TÉLIO collab started today! We’ll be talking all about what many say is a “must-have” garment for every wardrobe….a classic button up shirt! From the staple white, to denim, plaid, stripes, these shirts are perfect to have and wear year-round!
I think if theres anytime thats perfect to make one, Fall is definitely it. You can pair it with just about everything. From wearing it under your favorite summer dress to transition it, under jumpsuits, with pants, under a blazer, with jeans, a pencil skirts, see why its a wardrobe staple?!! Having a classic white button up shirt is a must, but I say, have fun with it and make it your own. Maybe embellish the collar, add a cute ruffle, or bow tie!
For my shirt, I used McCalls 7575. I’ll have more on the blog this week about this pattern, but I can say now that I won’t be making it again. I hate to say that about a pattern, but sometimes you come across some details on a garment that are for you and some that are not. This shirt pattern was not for me and I’ll share more in a review soon!
Here’s a couple options for a classic button up shirt pattern. Vogue 8772 is my go-to at the moment! I recently did a batch sew and made three! I love them!
Picking fabrics is probably my favorite part of the creating process! Its so many fabrics available to make an amazing shirt with, but I love to work with poplins, shirtings, cotton blends, rayons and chambrays. Below I picked a couple TÉLIO prints that will be great to make a classic button up shirt with.
Here’s a sneak peek of my shirt I made using a fabulous Chloe Check (style number: 39517) from TÉLIO.
Be sure to come back Wednesday for final looks of this shirt! Until then…..
