Hey hey hey!! Happy hump day!! I hope you had a great Fourth of July! We ate, relaxed, ate, slept, and it was perfect!!! Lol!! I did get some sewing done over the weekend using this flamingo fabric from my recent haul video. Its a beast to handle LOL, but my top is coming together nicely!!
Today I finally get to share with you all my version of Simplicity 8341. I made this dress months ago and actually wore it on my anniversary trip to Hawaii, and recently to LA for the conference. Shirtdresses are kind of my jam, so adding the cold shoulder to it, and its a MUST make for me!!
This pattern is truly not for the faint for hearts. It has lots of details that take time and patience so this is definitely not your one hour project! BUT the finished look is so pretty! I love all the details on this dress from the cold shoulder, to the ruffle, its a winner for me.
For fabric, I went with a linen. Yes it wrinkles like crazy but its perfect for these southern hot summer days. Other fabric options for this dress would be a chambray, challis, or cotton to name a few! For size, I cut out the 16. I heard reviews saying that attaching the sleeve was a little big and not lining up. I had the same problem but I gathered it in just a little and it went in perfectly!!
You have a great rest of the week! I'm excited to get some videos out this month because during the giveaway, I asked for feedback of what viewers would like to see more of on the channel, and wow I got some really great responses! So if you're not already, subscribe to the channel for upcoming videos!!
