Happy Thursday!! Today is Day 4 of Bodysuit Week and it's all about the traditional turtleneck View D of Simplicity 8513.
When planning out fabrics, I knew I wanted View D to be in black. To me its just classic, and I can wear it with basically everything! This view features a collar, and has a center back seam zipper.
As you can see from the pics, the collar is a little big. I talk more in the sew with me video about that as well as the fabric I wouldn't recommend for sewing it, so make sure you check it out below. Also I've gotten this question a couple times during the sew along..."can I just cut the back piece on the fold". For this pattern....no. Its drafted with a curve in the back pattern piece to give the bodysuit some shape. So cutting it on the fold is not recommended.
I styled this bodysuit with my Simplicity 1499 vest! I love this vest so much! While walking through Hobby Lobby, I saw it made, and immediately started looking for fabric to recreate it!! The pattern sews up really easy, and its perfect for this fall weather!
The edges of the vest are finished with bias tape. That lengthens out the construction time, but overall its a great weekend project!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Day 5, the final day the Bodysuit Week!! Check out the video and be sure to subscribe while you're there!
