Hey y'all! Happy Monday! Gosh its so good to be back on here with an actual project….that I made…and can talk about LOL! I’ve really missed being able to sew, but I’m slowly getting things unpacked, settled and planning out projects! If you follow me on social then you know last week we moved into our house (happy dance) so if you want a quick tour of home and new sewing ROOM (I HAVE A DOOR) you can watch the last video in my moving vlog here! Now let’s get into my new maxi dress!
Since I haven’t sewn in a couple weeks (I made a wrap dress and coat in early January) I wanted something quick and easy to get me back into my groove! I talked so much trash about this McCalls pattern in my latest haul video but it turns out, this was just the pattern I needed! McCalls 7122 is a Learn To Sew Raglan Sleeve Tunic, Dress and Leggings pattern. It’s really easy to sew, beginner friendly (hints the name: learn to sew lol) and I went with View D on the pattern. I figured if I didn’t like the maxi for whatever reason, I’d simply shorten it! After wearing it to take pics in it, I think I will chop some of the length off. I stepped on the hem one too many times for my liking so yeah…..its getting shorten!!
I cut the Large for the bust and merged the lines over the X-Large for the hips. I did have to go back and take it in some around the bust and waist to get a better fit. For fabric, I used a Rayon/Spandex from my local Joann. I didn’t find it online but I did find a good option here (I also bought that fabric) that will work also!
Now y’all gotta bare with me as I learn my camera again LOL! This day was such a struggle trying to figure out lighting and remembering how to pose LOL! I left my clicker at the house, Justice was on the playground (its right beside where I was standing) asking me to push her on the swing, it was cold…..it was a lot! LOL! I do LOVE this location though, so get ready to see this background for the next three years LOL!!!!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Until next time…
