Hey everybody! I hope you had a great weekend!! Like most weekends, I like to sew and plan projects but I current have family in town visiting and let’s just say between them and the chilly days were having here in San Diego, I don’t want to do any sewing LOL!! It sucks because I have so many amazing fabrics pre washed and ready to cut but my motivation to sew is on pause right now! I’ll be happy when it comes back, but until then….lets catch up on some projects!
Today I’m sharing about McCalls 7810 View B. I thought this top was super cute and I really love making tops because it takes my “basic everyday tee and jeans” look up another level. This top is loose-fitting, partial lined, it has front pleats, with sleeve and peplum variations. I like the tie on view B but not the sleeve so I left off the flounce.
I cut the size 14 for this top and while it fit perfect for the bust, it was EXACT for my waist! I really should’ve merged the pattern size over to the 16 for the waist to give myself a little breathing room. Oh well, I love this top, so its worth dropping 5lbs for! LOL!
I bought this navy and white gingham fabric from Hobby Lobby last year! I loved the white embroidered edge on it but I didn’t find the right project for it then, so it stayed in my stash until now! Clearly it was waiting to be a peplum!
I paired this top with my white Old Navy jeans and white Target heels! Funny, these shoes also sat new in my closet for a year! LOL! So happy I came across them though because I originally was going to style it with some wedges! I think the heels were perfect! I’d totally wear this look out!
Overall, I love this top! I think it’s super cute and easy to wear! I did make a change when sewing this top. I used my lining as a lining not as an underlining like the pattern instructions are written! I think it gives the top a more professional and cleaner look! And I love my finished top! Thank you so much for stopping by! Until next time….
