Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a great day! I don’t know about you but there was a time when I avoided adding/sewing ANY and ALL types of closures to my garments! It could’ve been beginner sewing nerves or just plain ole’ me being too chicken to try! Either way, what started off as things I stayed clear of is now something I actually look forward to doing my garments.
From installing zippers, to thread chain loops, and making buttonholes, I can ease through them now without hesitation. It took a lot of practice and patience but I got there! Since sewing on my Husqvarna Viking Epic 980q, creating buttonholes has gotten even easier! The machine comes with two buttonhole presser feet. One is an automatic presser foot, and the other is the manual presser foot.
With 11 different buttonhole stitches programmed on the machine, I have great options to add to garments. Some include the wide barrack buttonhole (frequently used), keyhole, tapered, and heirloom buttonhole. Once I decide the type of buttonhole that will be perfect for my project, I can simply select my stitch, the machine then changes all the settings to make that buttonhole and I’m ready to sew it on to my garment!
I hope you enjoy the video! Until next time,
