Hey everybody!! Welcome to week 2 of my collaboration with TÉLIO! I'm so excited to get this week started. If you missed last week inspiration post and review of my casual top, you can read those here!
Week 2 is all about pants! When I think about Fall, I think about classic pieces, and having a nice pair of go-to pants in the closet is a must. However, I know that pants are not everyones jam, so I also took the liberty to add some skirt inspiration too! A pencil skirt is classic and acts just like a classic pair of pants!
I don't know about y'all, but these inspiration pics are REALLY inspiring me to sew! These pencil skirts are AHMAZING, and I've been obsessing over pencil skirts recently so, this is everything! Lol! But lets get into my project for Week 2!
For week 2, I wanted to make pants that I could mix and match and easily wear with a fun casual top, or a classic button up top. When it comes to pants, I love a good wide leg style. I don't like them overly-wide, but just enough. With my full hips, I find they are really flattering and gives me the illusion of long legs!! I used Simplicity 8701 for my pattern, and I'm really happy with the outcome of them!
Based off some of the ready-to-wear pant styles above, I picked some patterns that would be great options for them below. I've made McCalls 7726 several times, and it's definitely a favorite!
And here are some really great pencil skirt pattern options. Butterick 5466 is my go-to pencil skirt pattern! I love it!!
Now it's time to chat fabric!!! Just because it's Fall doesn't need its time to bring out all the black and neutrals. Yes, blacks and neutrals are great to have in your wardrobe, but color, texture, and print should be in there too! Fall is really a time to have fun mixing all of these things together to create fun looks to show your personal style! Here's a couple TÉLIO fabrics I thought would be perfect in pants or skirts!
Heres a little sneak peek of my black denim pants using Simplicity 8701! Can't wait to share the full look with you on Wednesday! Until then...
