Hey everybody! Happy hump day!! I'm back from a mini-family vacation!! I feel like I've been away so much the last couple weeks. But now I'm back and I'm playing catch up, because I am seriously behind!! I decided today I will show you at a couple of the things I'm working on and that will be up soon!!
Renata of RunningNStyle created an awesome project for the sewing community! The Little Red Dress Project is a chance to create a beautiful holiday dress. I have yet to make a formal/evening dress so this is a great project for me!! The dresses will be revealed on December 21st from many amazing bloggers, and vloggers. I can't wait to see all what everybody makes. You can join in too, just post your creations on Wednesday Dec 21st and beyond with the #THELITTLEREDDRESSPROJECT.
Are you ready for our first sewing series!! I am!! Over the weekend, I bought all the supplies needed to sew Simplicity 8211!! I'm so excited to get started on this series. If you need help purchasing fabric, shopping for your pattern, or notions, don't worry, I'll be covering all of that in the first video! So get excited because we'll be starting soon!!
Cool, chic bomber right!! Akinyi of LuxurySewing reached out to me and asked would I like to collab on this Givenchy inspired jacket!! I immediately thought it's not something I would normally pick for myself, and I loved the thought of that! I want to be creative with my sewing, and make things that I like (obviously lol) but also pieces that I are not "everyday wear" for me. I think this jacket is so fun, and I've already sewn it up, just waiting to take photos in it!! If you would like to sew it up as well, Akinyi is offering her pattern for FREE for my readers!! How cool is that!! So stay tuned for the post, to get the FREE printable PDF!! In the mean time, head over to her site and check her out!!
And last but not least, my ball gown! If you watched my recent pattern haul video, you already know this will be the pattern I use for this years military ball! I'm really excited to make it, and nervous!! Vogue 1374 seems pretty straight forward but it's my first vogue, so pray for me LOL!!!! For my fabric, I decided to go with velvet!! YES!! And here's the fabric I purchased for it....
I think this burgundy, will look amazing with gold accessories (at least I hope so LOL)!!
So there you have it! I'm scissors deep in fabric over here, getting caught up on all my projects. Thank y'all for all the support, and love!! I pray you have a productive rest of the week, and I'll talk to you in the next post!
