tie dye french terry knit dress: mccalls 8253

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a new dress that I’ve made….twice!!! I was in love with McCalls 8253 the first time I saw it and knew it was going to be a must make for me. I’m sure looking at this pattern for some people would be an immediate NO because of the midriff, but this pattern is really fun and you can make it more or less reveling with the drawstring.

details

I used this Tie Dye French Terry from Melanated Fabrics for my dress. This fabric is soft, is easy to sew with, holds a press amazingly, and it has a nice drape too! Not to mention the color is just everything! I love it so much.

size

For size, I cut the 22W. The first dress I made I cut the 24W and it was a little big in the bodice and the waist. So this time around, I cut the 22W and the fit is great! I made no adjustments to the pattern.

the look

I paired the dress with some white sandals I bought from Target last year and some white sunglasses….also from Target!! Lol!
