pleated trousers: sew it academy

Hey friends! Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are doing well! I am so happy because last night I completed a very large and daunting task that I’ve been working at for like 2 years now. For those of you that don’t know, I updated to this blog back in 2021 but what I didn’t know was, I couldn’t integrate my old post to this new site (even though its on the same hosting platform). Needless to say, the thought of moving all my blog posts from 2016 to the new site was overwhelming. I procrastinated and it seemed like it went on forever, but thank God, last night I finished it! All of my blog post are on this site!!!!

It took forever but it was certainly worth it. Not only can I remove the pop up that appeared when you visited this blog about the old website, but I can use the money I was using to keep the old blog active to send out more emails monthly!! Okay, I’m happy….lets get on with this post!

If you have been looking for a pair of loose fitting pleated trousers with an elastic back waistband….look no further!!! I am in love with this trousers and can’t wait to make a few more! These pants are an exclusive pattern in the Sew It Academy. If you didn’t know Sew It Academy now has exclusive PDF patterns and the tutorials to walk you through the construction. This is the perfect time to give Sew It Academy a try if you’re not a member because the patterns are an amazing new addition! Let’s get into the details…

details

Pattern Used:  Sew It Academy Pleated Trousers Course #77 PDF Pattern

Pattern Description: Baggy fit pleated trousers with front fly zip closure, inseam pockets and elastic back waistband.

Pattern Sewing Level: These pants are great for an advanced beginner. If you can install a front fly zipper and pockets, you can definitely make these.

What size did you cut?: I originalIy cut the size 24 but had to take them in. I’d say by the time I had them adjusted I could’ve just cut the 20. The pants are loose so definitely keep that in mind and also the elastic back waistband.

What did you like or dislike about the pattern? I have no dislikes. The pattern is great and I love that it has an elastic back waistband. It just add a little of more comfort to the pants. I also like that they are loose and baggy fit.

Did you make any pattern adjustments: I didn't make any adjustments to the pants. I cut one size (took them in some) but I didn’t have to shorten or grade the pattern.

Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? My fabric is a 100% Linen and it’s from Melanated Fabrics.

Did you record a sew along for this pattern? I did but its recorded the course in the Sew It Academy. You can join and sew along with me making these pants.

Would you sew it again? Yes! I need a navy, cream, brown….all the colors basically! Lol Below are some options if you don’t sew or just simply want to buy. Also links to the tank I’m wearing! Loving these for summer!

Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely, these are awesome. They can be made in many different fabrics from Linen, to Silk, and Satins. I love them!

Well, that is all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! Until next time….

Blessings,
