Striped Knit Floreat Dress: Megan Nielsen Pattern
Hey everybody! Happy Thursday! Super excited to share todays post so lets jump right in! I was super excited when Megan of Megan Neilsen Pattern Company, reached out to see if I’d be interested in reviewing a pattern from her new collection! I’ve been a fan of her company ever since I saw the popular Flint Pants pattern, so of course I was on board to try one of her new designs.
I really enjoyed making her new Floreat Dress/Top Pattern. This pattern features an asymmetrical hem, several sleeve and hem length options, inseam pockets, optional ties and it can be made in a woven or knit fabric. I originally was planning to make it in a woven but made a last minute change to go with knit, and I’m so happy I did!
This dress is so comfortable to wear and its really versatile. I used a Ponte Knit for my dress and I love it. I found this fabric on clearance at Walmart for $2/yard and bought about 6 yards of it! For size I cut the 16. I probably could’ve sized down to the 14 since I did make it in a knit but the ties helps to bring in the extra fullness so I’m okay with it.
This was my first time working with a Megan Neilsen Pattern, and I’m pleased with not only my finished product but the thought that they put into all the details to deliver a great product. The back of the pattern has an easy check off shopping list, making it easy to get everything you need for the product. The PDF was very accurate taping it all together and they have easy to following instructions and diagrams.
I paired my Floreat Dress with my Black Thigh High Boots from Target (similar) and Fedora hat from Amazon. Thanks so much for stopping by! Until next time…
