two pattern piece top: simplicity 9757

Hi friends. When you’re stuck in a sewing rut, a quick sew project is what you need to get back to the machine. Ask me how I know! I’m pulling myself out of a sewing rut and this pattern was perfect! Only two pattern pieces to sew and you’re left with a cute top that’s great for spring and summer! Let’s get into the details…

Pattern Used: I used Simplicity S9757 and made View C on the pattern. This pattern sewing level is Easy.

What size did you cut? I cut the size L on this pattern.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, the instructions and illustrations were easy to follow.

How long did it take you to complete the project, from cutting to final stitch? It took me 2 days from cutting to final stitch. You can absolutely sew this in one day though. I cut on the first day and prepped for filming. On the second day, I stitched and finished the top. It’s a really quick and easy sew.

What did you like or dislike about the pattern? I love how easy it is to sew. If you don’t always want to wear a t-shirt, this is a great step up for an elevated easy top to wear with jeans, trousers, skirts, etc. I also like that it’s easy skirt options on this pattern too. No dislikes.

Did you make any pattern alterations? I did not make any pattern alterations or adjustments.

Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? My fabric is old from my fabric store. It’s a Viscose/Rayon blend knit. You can use a Jersey, Rib Knit, Bamboo, ITY etc. for this pattern. The pants are old from linen elastic waist pants from H&M. It's tons of elastic waist pant patterns available to make these yourself.

Would you sew it again? Yes. I would sew this again. This is actually my second time making it. I made View B last year.

Would you recommend it to others? Yes. If you love easy tops to wear, this one is great.
